Pollution situation improves in Delhi after rain AQI of many places is less than 150 check AQI of your city here ralbs

Cold wave and dry winter continues to wreak havoc in North India. At present, a huge drop in temperature is being seen in many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Telangana. This morning there was fog in many areas of the national capital. According to IMD, the minimum temperature in Delhi today will be 9 degrees Celsius and the cold wave continues with the drop in temperature. The current AQI in Delhi is 183. The air quality index (average of last 24 hours) at 4 pm yesterday (December 29, 2024) was 225 (poor). At 5.30 am the temperature in Delhi was 12°C and the wind speed was 8 km/hour.

Zero visibility at these places
Chandigarh, Amritsar, Jammu, Ambala all recorded zero visibility this morning. Visibility has been recorded below 200 meters in many areas of UP, Rajasthan, MP and Uttarakhand. Visibility at Safdarjung was 600 meters at 5.30 am. Visibility at IGI Airport was 1500 meters.

Zero visibility was recorded in many parts of Punjab and Haryana. There is a layer of smog in the air in some parts of Mumbai city, due to which the overall air quality is deteriorating. Scenes from Bandra Reclamation this morning.

How is air quality measured?
If the AQI of an area is between zero to 50 then the AQI is considered ‘good’, if the AQI is 51 to 100 then it is considered ‘satisfactory’, between 101 to 200 is considered ‘moderate’, if the AQI of a place is between 201 to 300. If the AQI of that area is considered ‘bad’. If AQI is between 301 to 400, it is considered to be in ‘very bad’ category and if AQI is between 401 to 500, it is considered to be in ‘severe’ category. Air pollution can cause many types of diseases. On this basis, grape category restrictions are imposed in Delhi-NCR.
