‘Rudraksha gives peace to the mind’
Naga Sadhu Digambar Vijay Puri, wearing Rudraksh, said in the context of wearing so much Rudraksh on his body, that Rudraksh rosaries give peace to my mind. That’s why I have worn Rudraksha. He told that the clothes of Naga Sadhus are burnt to ashes. He further told that he will take bath, meditation, bhajan and penance here during the entire Mahakumbh.
‘Our life is full of joy’
Digambar Vijay Puri told that to become a Naga Sadhu one has to work very hard, and after 12-13 years of hard work one becomes a Naga Sadhu. Digambar Vijaypuri told that our life is a very good life. We are doing bhajan, we are enjoying, all our happiness is in this. Our rule and policy is that we cannot wear clothes.
Ashes are our covering and this is our tradition. I have worn 35 kg Rudraksha on my body and I always wear it. He further told that we have become Naga Sadhus to get freedom from all the incarnations. We have taken up this veena so that we can get freedom from repeated birth and death.
initiation is given alone
Regarding the process of becoming a Naga, Vijay Giri told that there are very secret rules for becoming a Naga. Initiation is given between 2 to 2.30 in the night. There is no one there at that time and this program continues continuously for 48 hours. Digambar Vijay Giri told that to get freedom from lust, one has to conquer it and kill the mind, because the mind is very fickle.
He said that one has to live a virtuous life by killing the mind. Digambar Vijay Giri told that Ayurvedic medicine is given to get freedom from lust. Earlier, physical shock was given but many people died in this process, hence now Ayurvedic medicine is administered and this medicine is given at the time of rites.
