Punjab Dallewal health is continuously deteriorating weight has decreased by 20 KG claims farmer leader ntc

Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been on fast unto death for the last 52 days on the Punjab and Haryana border, has lost 20 kg of weight. A farmer leader told that when he (Dallewal) had fast unto death, his weight had reduced from 86.9 kg to 66.4 kg.

Farmer leader Abhimanyu Kohar, while addressing the media at Khanauri border on Thursday, said, Dallewal’s weight was weighed with a digital weighing machine. Which has shown that his body weight has decreased by 23.59 percent so far. When he started the fast, his weight was 86.9 kg, which has now reduced to 66.4 kg.

Dr. Harinder Singh of Rajindra Medical College, Patiala said that the ketone level in Dallewal’s body is positive. High levels of ketones indicate that the body is using stored fat for energy instead of glucose.

‘Dallewal is struggling with dehydration’

Giving information about Dallewal’s health, the doctor said, his BP (blood pressure) was 120/70 and pulse rate was 80. The doctor said that his health is deteriorating every day and he is suffering from dehydration.

According to farmers, the ketone level in Dallewal was 6.50 mmol/L (millimoles per litre) against the normal range of 0.02-0.27. He had earlier said that his body is not even accepting water and whenever he drinks water, he vomits.

SC asked for Dallewali’s health report

Earlier on Wednesday, the Supreme Court had asked the Punjab government to seek opinion from the AIIMS Medical Board and also directed it to submit a copy of his health report in the court. The bench also directed the registrar of the apex court to send a report from the medical board to the AIIMS director for opinion on Dallewal’s investigation report.

At the same time, Dallewal has refused to take any medical help during his fast unto death, due to which his health is continuously deteriorating.

Fast unto death of 111 farmers continues

Meanwhile, the fast unto death of a group of 111 farmers continued for the second day. A group of farmers has started their indefinite fast at the Haryana border near Khanauri in support of Dallewal.

Farmers under the banner of SKM (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha have been camping at the Shambhu and Khanauri border between Punjab and Haryana since February 13 last year, when security forces did not allow them to march to Delhi.
