The makers of Pushpa 2: The Rulestarring Allu Arjun, have removed the song ‘Dammunte Pattukora’ from YouTube after facing backlash over its controversial lyrics. The song, released by T-Series earlier this week, sparked a debate among netizens, with many questioning its timing and implications.

The lyrics, “If you’ve got the guts, catch me, Shekhawat!” were interpreted as a challenge by Pushpa, Allu Arjun’s character, directed at Fahadh Faasil’s character, a police officer. Some netizens speculated that the lyrics could be seen as a subtle jibe at the judiciary and law enforcement, especially in light of Allu Arjun’s recent legal troubles.
The controversy gained traction due to its release coinciding with Allu Arjun’s involvement in the Sandhya Theater stampede case. The incident, which occurred during a fan event on December 4, resulted in the tragic death of a woman and left her minor son critically injured. Arjun, who attended the event, was arrested on December 13 but secured bail the same day.
Critics and fans alike questioned whether the song’s lyrics and timing were appropriate given the ongoing legal and emotional fallout from the stampede. Facing mounting criticism, the producers decided to pull the song from all platforms.
In response to the tragedy, Allu Arjun has pledged to cover the minor’s medical expenses. Additionally, his father, producer Allu Aravind, announced financial assistance of Rs. 2 crores for the affected family. Despite these efforts, the incident has cast a shadow over the film’s promotions.
