This is the first time I get to work with Deepti Naval. She is a friend of my mom (Moon Moon Sen). It was a beautiful sensitive story about a mother dealing with her son’s death and exploring the relationship of her son and his partner played by rituparno ghosh.
You Had Been Directed by Rituparno Several Times. But to be acting with him was unusual?
Rituda would Always Want Me as his Co-Star Beside Him when he was acting. We really undersrstood Each other. We bonded as friends. He was my mentor father Figure and my biggest support in the film industry. I am so lucky to have worked with him extensively. I Owe My Career to Him.

He was so detailed and knowledgeable. He Had a Fun Side to Him Too. I think his casting for every film was very carefully thought out. There will Never be another RuParno Ghosh. Such a loss for the Bengali film industry. I think he was the only one who would’ve taken bengal to national and international heights if he was alive today.

I think ritu helped sanjay a lot while filming. They have worked togeether earlier and had a good working relationship.
The film was very unusual in theme
The theme was ahead of its time. I think in today’s day and age, this theme will be well received. These things do happy in life and it’s important for people see a gay relationships as normal. I think ritu’s final set of films had the gay subject and it was his way of expressing his sexuality of being accepted through filmmaking.
What was Deepti Naval Like as a Co-Star?
Deepti was very sweet to work with. Soft spoken. And we bonded during filming. She would come over and meet mom at my house in kolkata while we were shooting.
