Rajasthan: There will be a ban on hospitality of teachers in practical examinations, order of Education Minister – Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar on reet practical exam preparations strict action on teachers
Rajasthan Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Madan Dilawar conducted a thorough review of REET, board examinations and the functioning of the board in the meeting hall of Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education on Thursday. During this time, he expressed his displeasure over the tradition of welcoming and hospitality to teachers and said that it should be stopped completely. Special guidelines will be issued to all district education officers in this regard. This trend will be monitored and if any complaint is received from anywhere, action will be taken against it.
Education Minister Madan Dilawar reviewed the functioning of REET, board examinations and the board in the meeting hall. He said that Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education has a very good reputation in the entire country. This reputation must remain intact. It is your and our responsibility to maintain this identity. He said that in the last years, competitive examinations have brought a lot of bad name to the state. Such situations should not happen again. All examinations should be made completely secure, fair and leak proof.
Dilawar said that recently the issue of giving marks without checking the copy had come to light, this is a very serious matter and such a case should not be repeated again. This system should be made foolproof so that no teacher can commit such negligence in future. The Education Minister also closely reviewed the entire examination organizing system regarding the Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Examination to be conducted by the Board.
More than 25 thousand applications so far for REET exam
Board Administrator Mahesh Chandra Sharma and Secretary Kailash Chandra Sharma told him that the release of REET has been issued on 12th December. Applications for the exam will be open from 16th December to 15th January. More than 25 thousand applications have been received so far. This time a fifth option has also been included to prevent irregularities in the examination. All levels of preparations related to the examination have been started. Regarding REET, the minister said that CCTV cameras should be increased in the examination centers where required.
Examination centers will be monitored through CCTV
Officials told them that sensitive and hypersensitive examination centers will be monitored through CCTV cameras. There will also be videography in different districts. All possible measures will be taken regarding security. The exam is proposed on 27th February. The board is trying to complete it simultaneously everywhere in a single day.
Minister Dilawar advised to make the processes more convenient for the students so that there is no unnecessary trouble. It has been asked to adopt a more simple and convenient process for matters like name amendment in documents. The officials told him that now the name amendment is also being done on the basis of gazette notification.
Single use plastic will not be used in board offices
The Education Minister also advised to avoid using single use polythene in board offices. He gave important suggestions on question paper preparation, examination, determination of examination center and other subjects. Officials said that by implementing these suggestions, the working system will be further improved. Dilawar said that to avoid copying and other types of misuse, the board should take help of IT experts and make its functioning more efficient.
