In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Rajpal Yadav revealed his thoughts on why baby john underperformed. “It was a well-made film in every way,” he said, “but it did not work because it was a remake of the Tamil film theriSince Vijay had already done it, the audience had seen it, and that affected the box office.” Rajpal added that if the movie had not been a remake, it could have been one of the most well-crafted films of his career spanning 25 years.
How Varun Dhawan Took the Failure
When asked if Varun Dhawan was disheartened by the movie’s reception, Rajpal Yadav dismissed such speculation. “Varun is such a sweet boy, very hardworking. He has always tried to do something different, and his attempts must be appreciated because it’s a big deal to take risks,” Rajpal said.
baby john also starred Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Jackie Shroff in prominent roles, with Rajpal playing Constable Ram Sevak, the loyal deputy to Varun’s character, DCP Satya Verma. Despite the film’s failure, Rajpal’s performance, especially in his first-ever action scene, received some praise from critics.
