The girl whose toe was eaten by a rat in Rajasthan’s biggest cancer hospital has died. The hospital administration has said that no one had seen the rat being bitten. The family alleges that when the blanket was lifted, a rat ran inside, but the hospital staff did not see the rat in the ward. The girl was suffering from third stage cancer, which could not be saved.
Hospital said – death did not occur due to rat bite
State Cancer Institute Superintendent Dr. Sandeep Jasuja said that an investigation has been ordered into the matter, but it has nothing to do with the girl’s death. The government took the rat munching incident seriously and Deepak Maheshwari, principal of Sawai Man Singh Hospital, visited with the team. Pest control was not done in the hospital for a year, but now orders have been given for it. Cleaning work continued in the hospital throughout the day.
What was the matter?
It is noteworthy that on Thursday night, a case of a rat gnawing on a girl’s toe was reported in the State Cancer Hospital. When the 10-year-old girl, who was suffering from blood cancer due to being bitten by rats, was crying, the family lifted the blanket and saw that rats were eating her toe and blood was coming out of her toe. When the family members ran to the doctor, the doctors got the nursing staff to apply medicine and bandage on the leg, but in this biggest government hospital for cancer, no one showed any seriousness about the serious negligence in treating it like this.
On December 11, the girl was shifted from the oncology department to the pediatric department. An accident happened to him while sleeping at night. Due to filth everywhere, dogs, cats and rats keep roaming in the State Cancer Institute i.e. SCI Hospital. There are no security personnel due to construction work.
Even in July 2023, a patient’s leg was gnawed by a rat in Jodhpur’s MDMA Hospital. In May 2022, a rat had gnawed at a patient’s eye in MBS Hospital, Kota. At the same time, in Jaipur’s Sawai Man Singh Hospital, the dead body was gnawed by a rat.
