rishabh pant break his silence on retention delhi capitals ipl auction 2025
There may be talk of money between Pant and Delhi
Former Indian team captain and veteran batsman Sunil Gavaskar thinks that Delhi and Pant might have parted ways because of money. He said on Star Sports, ‘Sometimes when a player has to be retained, there is a discussion about the fee between the franchise and the player. As you saw, some players who were retained got more money than the number-1 retention fee. So I think maybe there was some disagreement there (between Pant and Delhi), but I think Delhi would definitely want Rishabh Pant back because they need a captain as well.
Rishabh Pant’s comment came on the video
Rishabh Pant himself has commented on Sunil Gavaskar’s video. Till now Pant did not talk about retention and auction but this time he broke his silence. Pant wrote in the comment of the video shared on X- I can definitely say that my retention was not about money.
Pant has been a part of Delhi since the beginning
Rishabh Pant has been playing in IPL since 2016. He made his debut for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals). Since then, Pant has been retained in every auction. The franchise made Pant its captain in the 2021 season. The franchise retained him even after missing a season due to a car accident.
