The team of Archaeological Department of India (ASI) has reached Kalki Temple in Sambhal today. Today a survey is being conducted in Kalki temple. Yesterday the ASI team had surveyed five different locations in Sambhal, which included 19 wells and 5 pilgrimages.
Today the ASI team surveyed the ancient Krishna well located in Kalki temple of Sambhal. Apart from this, a survey was also conducted inside the temple with the priest of the temple. The team has also captured a photo of the dome built inside the temple. Due to security reasons, this survey was conducted secretly by the local administration.
Earlier on Friday, the ASI team was captured in Aaj Tak’s camera while surveying the stones taken out from an ancient building in the temple located at Ladam Sarai in Sambhal. The 5 shrines and 19 wells inspected by ASI in Sambhal on Friday are as follows –

According to sources, ASI had requested the administration during this inspection to keep it away from media coverage. Sambhal region is known for its ancient religious and cultural importance. After the 46-year-old temple was opened on December 14 in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, the District Magistrate had written a letter to the Archaeological Survey of India, after which a 4-member ASI team reached Sambhal for inspection. Before the arrival of the ASI team, barricading was done around the well near the temple. The ASI team reached the temple during the puja.
What did the DM of Sambhal say?
Sambhal District Magistrate Rajendra Pensia said on Friday that the survey of the temple has been completed safely. Carbon dating of the ancient Kartikeya temple of Sambhal was done secretly by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Due to security reasons, this process was kept away from media coverage. The four-member ASI team had requested the administration to keep the inspection confidential. According to District Magistrate Sambhal Rajendra Pensia, the survey of the temple has been successfully completed.

The temple was closed for 46 years
