Preparations for organizing Mahakumbh-2025 have been completed in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Mahakumbh will officially start from the coming Paush Purnima i.e. 13th January. However, the devotees arriving for Kalpavas are already reaching the Kumbh area. Apart from this, the tradition of bathing etc. continues on the Sangam banks. Sangam or Triveni Ghat:
Sangam Ghat is built at the place where Ganga-Yamuna and Saraswati meet. Due to being the confluence of three rivers, it is also called Triveni Ghat. Although only Ganga-Yamuna confluence is seen at this place, Saraswati is extinct, but it is believed that at this place Saraswati meets Ganga and Yamuna invisibly. Due to its religious significance, crowds of people gather here throughout the year for bathing, charity etc.

Dashashwamedh Ghat: Not only in Varanasi, but also in Prayagraj, Dashashwamedh Ghat is situated on the banks of Ganga. It is built on the banks of Ganga in front of Daraganj locality. It is believed that Lord Brahma had performed ten Ashwamedha Yagya in this area and had also established Dashashwameshwar Shiva. This ghat has great recognition in the month of Sawan. Shiva devotees also perform Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva by taking Ganga water from here.

Rasulabad Ghat: This ghat is on the banks of Ganga in Rasulabad locality located in the northern area of ​​the city. The last rites of the immortal martyr Chandrashekhar Azad, who always remained independent, were performed at this ghat, hence its importance also increases due to Indian history. A permanent ghat has been built here. Where people come throughout the year to take bath, donate and meditate.

Shankar Ghat: If you go a little further from Rasulabad Ghat, there is Shankar Ghat nearby, on the banks of Ganga in Teliarganj locality. The famous Nageshwar Mahadev temple is built here, which has deep faith among the devotees. Villagers from across the Ganga also come here to take bath at the ghat.

Draupadi Ghat: This ghat is present in the Cantt police station area. It is thrilling to see the strong waves of river Ganga from here. Bindu Madhav, one of the 12 Madhavs located in Prayag, is also situated here. This ghat is an important place for Vaishnav sadhus and they gather on its banks for kirtan and bhajan.

Ramghat: This ghat, famous in the name of Lord Ram, is situated on the Ganges in the Sangam area. One can reach here directly from the black road located in Triveni area. Crowds of devotees gather here every day to take bath.

Daraganj cremation ground: This ghat is situated between the North Eastern Railway bridge and Shastri Bridge connecting the city to Varanasi. This ghat is used for funeral rites. People taking bath, meditation and devotees coming for darshan and worship are prohibited from going here. There are no traditions like daily bathing etc. here. However, people performing the last rites can be seen here performing rituals like bathing, purification and shanti puja.

Shivkoti Ghat: There is Shivkoti Ghat on the banks of Ganga in Shivkuti locality near Teliarganj. Narayan Ashram Ghat, Sitaram Dham and Koteshwar Mahadev Ghat are also nearby where devotees gather to take bath on the auspicious occasions of festivals.

Major Ghats of Yamuna River
Balua Ghat:
This ghat is situated on the banks of Yamuna river in the old city. The ISKCON temple has also been built here in recent years. The most important thing is that concrete stairs have been built here to reach the river and a temple of Yamuna ji has also been built on the upper side of the ghat. A fair is also organized here in the month of Kartik.

Gaughat: Goughat is situated on the banks of Yamuna near the railway bridge on the Delhi-Howrah railway line. Local people go here for bathing throughout the year. There is a boat club nearby where people go boating. Triveni Mahotsav is also organized here.

Arail Ghat: Arail Ghat located in Naini area is built on the banks of Yamuna river, it is known for its natural beauty and peace. There is also Someshwar Mahadev temple near it. This temple has a lot of recognition among the local people and apart from Sawan, a large number of devotees gather here on the occasion of Shivratri also.

Saraswati Ghat: This ghat is situated on the banks of Yamuna river near Akbar’s fort. There is also a beautiful park nearby. Apart from bathing, people also go here for boating. Boats are available from here all the time to go to Sangam. The temple of Mankameshwar Mahadev is also present near this ghat.

Kila Ghat: Qila Ghat is present near Akbar’s Fort. Qila Ghat is one of the major bathing ghats of Prayagraj. However, very few people know about this ghat. For this reason one never sees much crowd here.
