Shahid Kapoor recently addressed filmmaker Imtiaz Ali’s tongue-in-cheek comment about Geet and Aditya, the beloved couple from the 2007 classic Jab We Metstarring Kareena Kapoor and Shahid. When asked in July 2024 about where Geet and Aditya might be today, Imtiaz had humorously remarked, “At a divorce lawyer’s office.” Shahid Kapoor reacted to the comment during a SCREEN Live event in Mumbai on Friday, leaving fans both amused and heartbroken.

Sharing his thoughts, Shahid said, “That’s actually a fun idea that Geet and Aditya are now breaking up because they are frustrated with each other. Aditya is like, ‘She is her own favourite, who can ever put up with her?’” His playful comment mirrored the humor in Imtiaz’s earlier statement, sparking conversations among fans of the iconic rom-com.

When reminded that his comment might upset fans who adored Geet and Aditya’s love story, Shahid responded lightheartedly, “If our filmmaker thinks these two will divorce each other, then who am I to come in between? I am just an actor.” His candid response drew laughter from the audience, showcasing his ability to balance humor with nostalgia for one of his most memorable roles.
