Inspector Sunil Kakran of STF Meerut Unit, who was injured in an encounter between police and miscreants in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh, died during treatment. He breathed his last on Tuesday in Gurugram hospital.
This encounter took place near Udpur village on Monday night. The firing between STF Meerut and the miscreants lasted for about 30 minutes, in which more than 40 rounds of bullets were fired from both sides. In this encounter, four miscreants of Mukim Kala and Kagga gang were killed by the police.
Inspector Sunil Kakran died during treatment
Shamli SP Ramsevak Gautam confirmed the death of Inspector Sunil Kakran. He said that this encounter took place when the STF team had received information about the planning of a major crime in the area by Arshad, a criminal with a bounty of Rs 1 lakh, and his associate.
According to the FIR, the STF team had taken up position near the Udpur brick kiln at 11 am on the information of the informer. The encounter started when the miscreants arrived at night.
Injured in encounter with miscreants on Monday
Inspector Pramod Kumar of STF Meerut Unit said that all four miscreants were killed, but Inspector Sunil Kakran was seriously injured during the encounter. He was immediately taken to Gurugram hospital, but he died during treatment on Tuesday.
The area of the incident site has been sealed for security reasons. The police is investigating the matter in detail. The family members of deceased Inspector Sunil Kakran are in bad condition and crying.
