Bangladesh’s deployed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is not taking the name of the difficulties. Now the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge in the residential plot scam case has issued an arrest warrant against Sheikh Hasina, her son Sajib Vajed, and 16 others. Earlier on Sunday (April 13, 2025), a warrant for arrest was issued against Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana and niece Tulip Siddiqui for misusing political power and acquiring land.
What is the whole matter?
The court has issued a warrant after hearing a charge sheet of Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) in two cases of irregularities in the acquisition of plots in Purvanchal New Town. According to the prosecution counsel, most of the accused were government officials.

A court official said that Judge Zakir Hussain ordered the capital Dhaka and various police stations in the country to submit a report on April 29 whether Sheikh Hasina and other accused were arrested or not. The court asked the officials to submit a report regarding the progress of implementing the order, in response to which the ACC said that they are fugitives.
Earlier, on April 13 (Sunday), Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hussain, Bangladesh, issued a warrant against Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, British MP and niece Tulip Rizwana Siddiqui and 50 others in the corruption case related to the plot scam.
Sheikh Hasina living in India
After the violent movement in Bangladesh in 2024, Sheikh Hasina took refuge in India. Hasina has been living in India since August 5, 2024. The movement was so violent that the rule of the 16 -year -long Awami League was removed. Mohammad Yunus has officially requested the Government of India to hand over Hasina to Hasina.
