Shraddha Walker’s father Vikas Walker died of a heart attack in Mumbai on Sunday. He lived in Vasai with his wife and family. Shraddha Walker (27) was murdered on May 18, 2022 by her 28-year-old lover and live-in partner Aftab Amin Poonawala in a house in Mehrauli area of Delhi. Shraddha and Aftab lived in Mehrauli in a rented house.
Vikas was in shock since the brutal murder of his daughter Shraddha. He kept waiting for the remaining pieces of his body to perform his daughter’s last rites, but his last wish could not be fulfilled. Since the remains of Shraddha’s body are the main evidence in this murder, the Delhi Police did not handover her to her family members. The case was revealed about 6 months after Shraddha’s murder.

Shraddha’s family was not comfortable about her relationship with Aftab. Because of this, Shraddha broke contact with the family. Shraddha’s friends informed her father Vikas Walker that they were not able to contact her for more than two and a half months. After this information, Vikas Walker lodged a report of the disappearance of his daughter Shraddha in the Mumbai Police. After investigation of the case, it was found that Shraddha lives in Delhi with her lover Aftab. The Delhi Police was contacted in this regard on behalf of Mumbai Police.

Delhi Police started searching for Shraddha and arrested Aftab from Mehrauli from her rented flat. The police recovered the remaining pieces, blood stains and other evidence of Shraddha’s body from the fridge kept in the flat. During interrogation, Aftab confessed his crime. Aftab Poonawala told the police that after a debate on May 18, 2022, he strangled his live-in partner Shraddha to death. No one can get a clue and the body of Shraddha could be easily planted, so Aftab stored 300 liters of fridge in 300 liters of fridge.

Aftab burned her face to hide Shraddha’s identity. Aftab Poonawala continued to throw the pieces of her dead body to Chhatarpur forests every night at around 2 pm after the murder of Shraddha. Aftab Poonawala was arrested by Delhi Police on 12 November 2022. Shraddha’s father Vikas Walker demanded a death sentence for Aftab. Delhi Police has filed a charge sheet against Aftab in this case. The court has fixed the charges and the trial of the case is going on.
