Congress veteran leader and Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has suffered a major setback in the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case. A special court in Karnataka ordered the Lokayukta police to continue the investigation in the MUDA case. The court did not accept a clean cheat.
What did the Special Court say?
The court postponed the verdict on the ‘B report’ submitted by the Lokayukta police, in which Siddaramaiah was freed from any wrongdoing. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) and social activist Snehamayi Krishna challenged this clean chit.
The court reserved its order for the first Monday, but due to the investigation being incomplete, the matter was now postponed till 7 May.

In its order, the court made it clear that the Enforcement Directorate has the right to file an objection to the ‘B report’ in the MUDA case. The Lokayukta police has been formally approved to further the investigation. The investigation of other accused in the MUDA case will still continue.
The court has insisted that until the investigation is completed in the case, it will not pronounce the final decision.
