According to the legend, there lived a poor Brahmin in a kingdom. Due to lack of money his daughter was not able to get married. Troubled by their poverty, one day a Brahmin couple asked a sadhu for a solution, to which the sadhu told that there is a washerman in the nearby village, who lives with her son and daughter-in-law. If your daughter serves that washerman, then the washerman will be happy and give her the vermillion of her demand, which will ensure the marriage of the girl. Hearing this, the girl went to the washerman’s house and started doing all the work and the washerman and his daughter-in-law did not know about it. One day the washerman asked his daughter-in-law, how do you do so much work so quickly, then the daughter-in-law said, I thought you do all this work. The washerwoman was shocked and started keeping an eye. When the washerman woke up in the morning, he saw a girl quietly doing all the household work. This continued for several days. One day the washerman asked the girl the reason.
The girl told the washerman everything said by the monk. After listening to him, the washerman gave him the vermilion he had asked for and at the same time the washerman’s husband died. Saddened by this, the girl left the house and reached near a Peepal tree, took 108 pieces of bricks, circled them 108 times and started throwing them one by one. Due to this the girl did so and the washerman’s husband came back to life. The girl got auspicious results by circumambulating the Peepal tree.
