Gujarat News: Liver, kidney and eyes of a brain dead woman were donated to Muljibhai Patel Urological Kidney Hospital in Kheda district. Five people have got new life from these organs.
70 year old Bhanumatiben, wife of Maheshbhai Patel, who lives in Valasan of Anand, adjacent to Nadiad of Kheda, suffered brain haemorrhage after falling in the bathroom on 4th December. After which Bhanumati Ben was taken for immediate treatment.
Earlier, 9 months ago, the couple had lost their son Parimal, because he could not get lungs on time. Therefore, from then onwards the husband and wife had decided that they would definitely donate their organs so that someone else could get a new life.
Due to this, Maheshbhai Patel decided to contact the Kidney Hospital of Nadiad and donate his organ. This entire process was carried out on 5 December. In which the woman’s liver, two kidneys and two eyes have been donated. The liver has been immediately sent in a special van to be taken to Ahmedabad Civil Hospital. Both the kidneys have been donated to Nadiad Muljibhai Patel Urology Hospital and both the eyes have been donated to Ahmedabad Civil Hospital.
One of the two kidneys donated at the Kidney Hospital was transplanted to a 72-year-old man. At the same time, a 42 year old patient has also got a new life after getting Bhanumatiben’s kidney.
In this matter, Maheshbhai Patel said, his son Parimal had died 9 months ago due to lung disease. Despite many efforts, lungs could not be found for the son. For this reason we had decided to donate our organs. Now five people will get a new life through wife’s organ donation.
Mahesh Patel family of Anand has set a unique example for the society by donating the organs of their relatives. On the other hand, Dr. Dinesh Prajapati of Muljibhai Urological Hospital also praised Maheshbhai’s decision to save human life.
