Special trains going from New Delhi to Prayagraj will leave from platform 16, will enter Ajmeri gate passenger Meri Gate Ntc

After the stampede at New Delhi railway station on Saturday night, Northern Railway has taken tough steps for security and crowd management. All special trains going towards Prayagraj will leave from platform number 16. All the passengers going to Prayagraj will come from Ajmeri Gate of New Delhi railway station and go.

According to the release issued by the Railways, regular trains will continue to operate through all platforms. This is a step towards avoiding mobilization on a platform in peak hours. Apart from this, deployment of RPF and GRP forces has been increased at New Delhi railway station. These personnel are helping passengers by guiding them towards the departure platform of their train.

The railway administration has taken special steps to prevent congestion and chaos. Till 7 pm today, 4 special trains were run, in which one for Darbhanga was run via Prayagraj and two other trains were run for Prayagraj. Seeing the crowd, an additional special train left at 9 pm. In view of the crowd of passengers going to Prayagraj, the Indian Railways has set a program to run 5 more special trains on tomorrow, 17 February 2025, for the devotees of Mahakumbh.

The railway administration has appealed to the passengers not to pay attention to the rumors and only follow the official announcements. It has also been ensured that for the convenience of passengers, railway helpline number 139 should be kept fully active, on which more than 130 calls have been received so far.

Railways has announced financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the families of all the 18 dead who lost their lives in the stampede. A compensation of Rs 2.5 lakh has been announced to the seriously injured passengers and Rs 1 lakh to a minor injured passengers. Railways on Sunday distributed compensation to 15 injured.
