While the 30-share Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange plunged by more than 1100 points, the Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange slipped by 365 points. Meanwhile, shares ranging from Tata Steel to Adani Port, Reliance and HDFC Bank were seen crashing.

Sensex-Nifty suddenly collapsed
First of all, let us talk about the sudden big fall in the share market, then let us tell you that the BSE Sensex had opened at the level of 79,281.65 and around 12 noon it fell by a huge 1124 points. It fell to the level of 78,090. Like Sensex, Nifty too, after opening with a rise at 24,045.80, suddenly slipped by 365 points and came to the level of 23,639.

Investors’ hard earned money lost in one fell swoop
Due to this big fall in the stock market, the market cap of BSE has also decreased and the hard-earned money of the investors has been lost. On Friday, the last trading day of last week, BSE Market Cap was recorded at Rs 449.78 lakh crore, which came down to Rs 441.48 lakh crore after the fall during three hours of trading on Monday. According to this, Rs 8.3 lakh crore of investors was lost in no time.

Is the stock market scared of the new virus?
There are many reasons behind the decline in the Indian stock market. These include everything from selling by foreign investors to increase in crude oil prices. But if reports are to be believed, the effect of the Chinese HMPV virus was visible in the form of a decline in the market on Monday. In fact, it is being said that after the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) confirmed the detection of two Chinese HMPV virus cases in a hospital in Bengaluru, investors started panic selling and the market got scattered.
