The assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh are to be held in 2027, but the major opposition party Samajwadi Party has already started a campaign. SP National President Akhilesh Yadav posted a campaign video on social media platform ‘X’ on Monday, through which he has tried to help women voters. Akhilesh Yadav has promised to implement ‘Stree Honor-Samriddhi Yojana’ in Uttar Pradesh for the upliftment and prosperity of women.

The Samajwadi Party reiterated its slogan of backward, Dalit, minority (PDA) in this campaign video. Akhilesh Yadav has promised to send direct funds to women’s bank account under this scheme, give mobile to women, and give laptops to talented students. Apart from this, he has also promised to start a PDA school, in which there will be skill development of women and girls. The SP has said that their skills will be enhanced through the PDA school and they will be linked to employment.

Akhilesh Yadav shared the campaign of SP on social media and wrote, ‘We will bring female respect-prosperity scheme in 2027 and will make every girl, girl, woman strong!’ The SP claimed that through this scheme, women will not only get respect, but will also have economic and social empowerment. Akhilesh Yadav says that in view of issues like inflation and unemployment, all the promises will be fulfilled when the Samajwadi Party government is formed in Uttar Pradesh in 2027, just as our government had done in the past.

On the lines of Madhya Pradesh, the BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP coalition government in Maharashtra also launched ‘Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana’, under which women get financial assistance of Rs 1500 every month. The effect of this scheme was that the BJP -led Mahayuti coalition government won the Maharashtra assembly elections with a strong majority. Similarly, under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana in Chhattisgarh, women get 1 thousand rupees every month. Apart from this, Mayan Samman Yojana runs in Jharkhand, under which women get financial assistance of up to Rs 25. This scheme is credited for Hemant Soren’s return to power in Jharkhand.

In Delhi elections, the BJP promised to provide financial assistance of Rs 2500 to women every month under the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana when he came to the government. After 27 years, BJP won in Delhi. Now Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has said that the Mahila Samman Yojana will be implemented very soon. It is believed that the registration process for this will start from March 8. Perhaps by seeing these examples, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has promised to provide financial assistance to women for forming a government to return to power in Uttar Pradesh.
