Israeli army confirmed the attack

According to the agency, the Israeli army has confirmed the attack based on an intelligence input in Al-Mawasi, in which Shahwan was targeted. Israel has described Shahwan as the head of Hamas security forces in southern Gaza. However, the army made no mention of Salah’s death.

The Israeli military claimed that they targeted Hamas militants who were working in the command and control center in the Khan Yunis municipality building. Information about these people was revealed through intelligence.

Philippe Lazzarini, head of the United Nations Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), said, “There is no humanitarian zone (in Gaza), let alone a safe zone.” He stressed the need for ceasefire.

Separate Israeli airstrikes on Thursday killed at least four people on Jala Street in Gaza City and two in its Zeitun district, doctors said.

Apart from this, the Israeli army has accused Gaza terrorists of using residential areas to hide, while Hamas has rejected Israel’s allegations.

Defense Minister warned

Defense Minister Israel Katz warned in a statement on Wednesday that if Hamas does not soon release the remaining hostages and stop firing on Israel, it will have to suffer the worst damage seen in Gaza for a long time.

According to Gaza’s health ministry, Israel has killed more than 45,500 Palestinians so far in the war, mostly women and children. Most of Gaza’s 2.3 million people have been displaced since the war.

Let us tell you that the war between Israel and Hamas started when Hamas-led terrorists attacked Southern Israel on October 7, 2023, killing about 1,200 people and taking about 250 hostage. About 100 hostages are still in Gaza, with at least a third believed dead.
