Students were seen dancing on obscene and vulgar songs, scene after the convocation ceremony in BHU, Proctorial Board also helpless – students were seen dancing on obscene and vulgar songs After receiving their degrees at the BHU convocation lcln
The 104th convocation ceremony of Varanasi’s Kashi Hindu University (BHU), one of the leading educational institutions of the country, was completed as per tradition, but the dance of students on obscene and vulgar Bhojpuri songs of DJ has also taken the form of a new tradition. This time too, after the convocation ceremony, the video of students coming out on the streets with a DJ in the campus and dancing on vulgar original songs has gone viral on social media. At the same time, the Proctorial Board of the University is also expressing its helplessness over this new tradition.
Varanasi’s Kashi Hindu University may have got the title of Asia’s largest residential university, but this university often remains in the headlines due to its shortcomings rather than its strengths. Whether the occasion is the foundation day of the university or the convocation ceremony, DJ has come into vogue since last few years.
Students dance to obscene and vulgar songs played by DJs on the streets of the campus. Something similar was seen this time too during the 104th convocation. There is a tradition during the convocation ceremony of BHU that after getting the degree, the students come to the Kashi Vishwanath temple located in the campus for darshan and worship with their degree and seek blessings of Baba. But for the last few years, after receiving degrees from their respective departments, students have started reaching the temple with the DJ and there is a lot of dancing and fun on the way.
The issue of Hindi songs was limited, but for the last few years, not only boys but also girls are seen playing obscene Bhojpuri songs and the same happened this time too. Now dozens of videos of BHU are going viral on social media.
In this case, Chief Proctor of Kashi Hindu University, Shiv Prakash Singh said that after getting the degree, there is a different enthusiasm among the students and he calls a DJ in the campus to play songs and music.
He also expressed his helplessness that for the last few years, attempts were made to control this tradition, but it could not happen. He told that heads of some departments allow this. We have also got them to sign the written letter and only after that permission is given to remove the DJ.
