Government will get Rs 89.40 crore
Out of the Rs 639.15 crore spent by 10 franchises on 182 players in the IPL auction, the payment will be made to the players only after deducting TDS. This TDS will go to the Government of India. 639.15 crores have been spent in this year’s auction. In this, bids worth Rs 383.40 crore will be made on Indian players and bids worth Rs 255.75 crore will be made on foreign players. According to the rules, 10 percent TDS is levied on Indian players and 10 percent TDS is levied on foreign players. According to this, TDS of Indian players comes to Rs 38.34 crore and TDS of foreign players comes to Rs 51.15 crore. That is, the amount received by the players from this mega auction is going to bring Rs 89.49 crore to the treasury of the Government of India.
