Haryana government has purchased a new helicopter worth Rs 80 crore in place of the 15 year old helicopter. Before using the new Airbus H145-D3, a ‘puja ceremony’ was organized for it on Monday. CM Nayab Saini, Minister Vipul Goyal and other ministers were also present on this occasion.

Civil Aviation and Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goyal said on Monday that the state civil aviation department had long ago recommended purchasing a new helicopter. He said that the helicopter which the government is using is very old.

According to the news agency, Goyal said, “The Civil Aviation Department had recommended a year ago that the old helicopter should be replaced. We had ordered a new helicopter and now we have received the delivery of this helicopter.” Although the cost of the new helicopter is said to be Rs 80 crore, Goyal said that the purchase cost will be calculated after the sale of the old helicopter. He further said, “But there was a need for a new helicopter because the existing helicopter was 15 years old.”

CM said- State’s development will gain momentum

While sharing the photo of the puja of the new helicopter, Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini wrote that the non-stop government of the state will give impetus to the development of Haryana with the new helicopter.

The helicopter was purchased for Rs 33 crore in 2009

The Haryana government is currently using a twin-engine helicopter, which was purchased at a cost of about Rs 33 crore in 2009 during the earlier Congress government. About six years ago the BJP government had acquired a fixed wing aircraft – Beechcraft King Air 250.
