A surprising incident came to light in a wedding hall in Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Where after the Jaimala ritual, the bride refused to marry the groom, calling him retarded and less educated than her. The matter is of Mustafabad Kala village of Dostpur police station area. This decision created a stir at the wedding ceremony and the wedding procession had to return without the wedding.
What is the whole matter?
A laborer resident of Mustafabad Kala village had fixed the marriage of his 28-year-old graduate daughter with a 30-year-old youth from a village in Akhandnagar police station area, who has failed in high school. On 17 November 2024, the wedding procession reached home and was given a grand welcome. All the rituals were completed and the Jaimala ceremony was also completed.
But immediately after Jaimal, the bride stood on the stage and refused to marry the groom, calling him retarded. The bride said that she is far ahead of the groom in terms of education and intelligence. After this, talks continued throughout the night between both the parties, but the matter did not work out.

After the incident, both the parties reached Dostpur police station on Tuesday. Police station head Pandit Tripathi said that an agreement has been reached between both the families that the boy’s family will return the tilak items and the girl’s family will return the jewelery given at the wedding.
The boy’s father said that everything was normal till Jaimal. The girl suddenly refused to marry and created a ruckus demanding slippers and bangles. After police intervention the matter has now been resolved.
