A 5.2 magnitude earthquake occurred in Southern California on Monday morning (Indian time late on Indian time), causing stones to fall on the streets from the mountain in San Diego. Transport officials have issued a warning that the passengers fall from the hills and beware of the stones coming on the roads and highways. In the north-west of Julian, the State Route 76 has also been rolled from the mountains.

The California Transport Department at San Diego County said that the teams are inspecting the roads to find out possible damage. According to Lucy Jones, an experienced earthquake scientist at Southern California, the earthquake came in a depth of 8.3 miles (13.4 km) near the Elseenore Fault Zone. Elsinor Fault Zone is one of the busiest seismic regions of California and is part of the famous San Andreas Fault System, where a at least 4.0 magnitude earthquake occurs every year. Jones said that the earthquake felt in Julian on Sunday was 3.5 intensity. Some of the residents of San Diego County, who are subscribers of the Early Warning System called the USGS’s Shek alert, had received information about a one or two seconds before the earthquake felt on Monday.
