Mahoba: Angry farmers broke lock of the kisan samiti warehouse and looted fertilizer lcly.

In Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh, the problems related to fertilizer and irrigation of farmers are increasing. Farmers, troubled by not getting fertilizer at the time of wheat sowing, are now losing their patience. When the farmers, who were standing in line since 4 in the morning at a farmer committee in the district, were told that fertilizer was not available in the committee, their patience broke. After which the angry farmers broke the lock of the committee’s warehouse and looted the sacks of fertilizer kept inside. The entire matter pertains to the multi-purpose primary rural cooperative society Badihat of the district.

Farmers say that they were paying money to buy fertilizer, but they were not being given fertilizer. Farmers also allege that their share of fertilizer is being black marketed. Whereas manure is kept in the committees. Due to non-availability of fertiliser, the sowing crisis is deepening. At the same time, after this incident, questions are being raised on the local administration and committee management.

As soon as the information about looting of fertilizer was received from the committee, the local police also reached the spot. After which the police also explained to some farmers. In this case, farmer leaders have demanded from the administration to ensure transparency in fertilizer distribution and take action against the guilty employees. It has also been said that if the problem is not resolved soon then they will protest.

However, Lakshmi Prasad, in-charge of Mahoba’s Badihat Cooperative Society, has denied the allegations of black marketing of fertilizers. He said that some farmers and anarchists broke the lock of the committee’s warehouse, took away the fertilizer and also threw it outside. Don’t know how many sacks of fertilizer have been taken. The matter has been informed to the authorities. A video of those carrying manure has also been made.
