The issue of violence that took place during the survey of Jama Masjid in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh had not yet stopped when the Badaun dispute has come to the fore. In fact, the Hindu side has claimed that Shamsi Jama Masjid of Badaun is the Neelkanth Mahadev Temple. Today this matter is to be heard in the district court. There is a lot of politics going on regarding this matter also.
A special fast track court has been formed to hear this case of Badaun. The court has called the Muslim side for debate, in which the lawyers of the Hindu side will argue. On one hand, the Hindu side claims that a mosque has been built by demolishing the Neelkanth Mahadev temple, while the Muslim side says that there is no evidence of ever having a temple or idol here.
What is the claim of the Muslim side?
The Muslim side says that when Sufi thinker Badshah Shamshuddin Altamash came to Badaun, he had built a mosque here to worship Allah. There is no evidence of ever having a temple or statue here. The claims being made regarding this are false and against reality.
Owaisi had also tweeted
Regarding the Badaun controversy, AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi had also tweeted that the coming generations are being made busy in digging for ‘ASI’ instead of studying for ‘AI’. He had said that Jama Masjid of Badaun in UP has been targeted. The case was filed in the court in 2022 and its next hearing will be on December 3. ASI (which works under the Government of India) and the UP government are also parties in the case. Both these governments will have to present their views as per the 1991 Act.
