‘No to US products …’, Opposition to Trump’s new tariff, people boycotting American goods – People Boycotting American Goods in Protest Against Trump’s New tariff NTC

In response to America’s broad new tariffs, there is a global opposition. Meanwhile, a unique wave of protest has started around a world. This protest is neither taking place with slogans, nor from rallies but from shopping list and wallets. According to Google Trends, the search of ‘Boycott USA’ has accelerated. People are sharing posts to boycott American products in social media, especially Facebook groups.

Similarly, European businesses have also joined protests. French entrepreneur Romain Roy, whose solar company has regularly bought Tesla vehicles from 2021, recently canceled the order of 15 new cars citing Trump and Musk’s political views. Calling the US a country in itself, Roy pointed to the US climate agreement and the public gesture of Musk. Despite the additional 150,000 ($ 164,000) cost, he chose the European model instead.

Similarly, in Denmark, where Trump expressed his desire to buy Greenland, the protest became even more intense. The largest retail company Salling Group is now helping customers to avoid American goods by putting black stars on European products. This has started labeing with black stars on European products, allowing consumers to avoid purchasing American products.

In Canada, consumers have devised their ways to register protests. Some people are keeping American products upside down on the shelves of the store so that others can identify them. Canadians are using the Maple Scan App, which scan the barcode on the products and find out whether they are really canady or owned by American corporations.

Anger against Alan Musk and Tesla

Alan Musk, who is considered to be Trump’s associate, is also under criticism. Protests are taking place at Tesla dealership in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Tesla vehicles were burnt in some places.

Tesla’s sales have declined in countries like Norway, Germany and Australia. In Scotland and Ireland, there were protests on Trump’s golf course and properties were damaged.
