The fourth edition of the bilateral three-service Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) amphibian exercise ‘Tiger Triumph 2025’ held between India and the US was held on 11 April 2025 with the Dustingvished Visitors Day (DV Day) held in Kakinada on 11 April 2025. On this occasion, Flag Officer Commanding (Fotna) of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Naval Area, Commander General of America, Commander of US Navy Strike Group Five, and Deputy GOC of 54 Infantry Division were present.
During DV Day, complex military operations were demonstrated in Kakinada and near its coast, including standoff and hard beach, slidering operation by special forces (by MI-17V5 helicopters), C-13V5 aircraft participation and Indian Navy, the Army, Air Force as well as the American Navy, Army and Marine Cruds.
These campaigns showed a high level of joint campaign capacity, coordination and interpreting between India and the United States forces.
The exercise was held from 1 to 11 April 2025. Its purpose was to provide practical training in HADR campaigns and to familiarize each other’s abilities, techniques and procedures. It is noteworthy that the ‘Tiger Triumph’ practice was first held in the year 2019, the main objective of which is to enhance the operational synergy, competent the logistics exchange under LEMOA (Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement) and promote the inclusion of new techniques between the two armies.
Harbor Phase was held from 1 to 7 April in Visakhapatnam. It was inaugurated by American acting ambassador Jorgan. Andrews and Eastern Naval Command Chief of Staff Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena. This phase included pre-cell conference, discussion among experts-including medical, drone, space etc.-as well as cross deck visit, boarding drills and sports were organized.
The Sea Phase, which took place on the Kakinada coast from 8 to 11 April, included sea operations, cross-deck landing of helicopters, coastal landing of soldiers and activities of NDRF. A Joint Coordination Center (CCC) was established as part of the HADR campaign, as well as joint relief and medical camps by the Rapid Action Medical Team (RAMT) and the US team.
