In the early hours of Monday, there were strong tremors of earthquake in Delhi-NCR. According to the National Center for Sisamology, the intensity of the earthquake was recorded at 4.0. According to the information, the center of this earthquake was in New Delhi. An official told the news agency PTI that the epicenter of the earthquake was near Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education in Dhaula Kuan. This earthquake, which came at 5:36 am, was at a depth of five kilometers.
The official said that there is a lake nearby in the area where there was a center of earthquake, where there have been incidents of earthquake every two to three years. An official said that in 2015, an earthquake of 3.3 magnitude was recorded in this area.
People came out of their homes
People of many tall buildings in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad got out of their homes due to the rapid tremors from the earthquake. In a post on X, Delhi Police said, “We hope you all are safe.” Delhi Police has appealed to citizens to call 112 helpline in an emergency.

What did the people of Delhi-NCR say
Passengers at New Delhi railway station told news agency ANI that it seemed as if a train was running under the ground. One person said, ‘Everything was shaking. At the station, a vendor said that as soon as the earthquake felt the tremors and everything started moving, many customers started shouting. Another passenger waiting for his train told ANI, “The earthquake shocks were felt for a very short time, but the intensity was so high, it seemed as if a train had come at a very fast speed.” In Tibet, 126 people died in three serial earthquakes on 7 January and a large -scale infrastructure was damaged.
