The ‘P’ factor of Delhi elections… Who benefits, who gets hurt in AAP and BJP! – delhi election P factor Who benefits and who do not in AAP and BJP by purvanchali votes ntc
Promises of free first. Then a promise of Rs 18 thousand per month for the priests and priests. Again a bet on reservation for Jat votes. And now in Delhi elections, there is a tussle regarding the vote bank of Purvanchal belonging to UP-Bihar. On a statement of Arvind Kejriwal, BJP raised the issue of insult to Purvanchal voters.
Demonstration, press conference and posters… with the help of these three in Delhi elections, an attempt is being made to set the politics of one vote as per their own. Where one party performs, the other also performs. The poster comes out from one side and also from the other side. BJP makes one allegation in a press conference and Aam Aadmi Party makes the other allegation in a press conference. Meanwhile, on the statement of Arvind Kejriwal, BJP has raised the issue of insulting the voters of Purvanchal.
When Arvind Kejriwal returned on Thursday after complaining to the Election Commission about adding fake voters, BJP started cornering him on this issue in front of the media. First, BJP President JP Nadda writes that Kejriwal has insulted our people of UP-Bihar by calling them fake voters. The people of Delhi will answer. At the same time, Aam Aadmi Party also started repeating the same allegation that BJP is trying to get votes from the people of Purvanchal by calling them Rohingya and Bangladeshi.
The battle of Purvanchal voters reached from statements to demonstration
On Friday, the fight for the voters of Purvanchal in Delhi went beyond statements to demonstrations. Where BJP workers took out a protest march against Arvind Kejriwal and wrote on posters that Kejriwal is anti-Purvanchal and demanded an apology. To stop the protesters who came out in the name of Purvanchal Samman, barricading was done outside Kejriwal’s house, breaking which the BJP workers moved ahead. After this the police used water cannon.
This politics of honor and insult is for more than 25 percent of Purvanchali voters in Delhi, who are spread over 30 seats. They have a big influence on 20 seats and decide the results on 16 seats. In order to woo the Purvanchali voters who dominate these seats, the decorum of words is being violated by both sides by accusing each other of insulting them.
What is the reason for politics of respect for Purvanchal voters?
Actually, there are many reasons behind the politics happening every day regarding a new vote bank. First reason – Even though Aam Aadmi Party has got more than 50 percent vote bank in two assembly elections, now after ten years of direct power, Arvind Kejriwal may fear anti-incumbency. The second important thing is that increase in votes of Congress means division of anti-BJP votes, which means loss of Aam Aadmi Party and the third important thing is that between the last two elections, the maximum number of voters in Purvanchal has been with Aam Aadmi Party, the same is in Uttar Pradesh. The voters coming from the eastern region, Bihar, Jharkhand have now increased slightly towards BJP in Delhi.
In such a situation, the question arises whether this is why BJP sees an opportunity to make a dent in this vote bank this time for itself and hopefully for Arvind Kejriwal’s party, due to which the politics of respect for Purvanchal voters has intensified?
Purvanchali voters decide victory or defeat on these seats
Actually, in Delhi it is believed that the population of voters of Purvanchal could be around 45 lakhs. If we look at the map of Delhi, we see Deoli, Burari, Kirari, Sangam Vihar, Vikaspuri, Dwarka, Palam, Laxminagar, Matiala, Karawalnagar, Seemapuri, Rithala, Mangolpuri, Badli. These are those major seats, where victory or defeat is directly decided by the voters of Purvanchal. Till now, the association of voters of Purvanchal with Aam Aadmi Party has been seen in the assembly elections. Whereas in Lok Sabha elections this vote goes to BJP. There are voters who mostly live in slums and illegal colonies of Delhi. Benefits like 200 units of free electricity and free bus travel for women are effective for these voters. This is the reason why this Purvanchali vote stood firmly with the Aam Aadmi Party in the battle for Delhi.
Was Purvanchali voter on which side in the last elections?
In the 2015 elections, AAP got all the 16 seats with Purvanchali influence and 64 percent votes, while BJP did not get any seat, got only 29 percent votes and Congress got 4 percent votes. In the 2020 elections, AAP again got 14 out of 16 seats and 54.62 percent votes. BJP got 2 seats, vote percentage also reached 39.09, Congress got only 2.44 percent votes. This means that within 5 years in 2020 itself, 10 percent of Purvanchali votes had gone from AAP to BJP’s account. BJP hopes that this vote bank is now losing its attachment to AAP. This is the reason why BJP is now linking the issue of fake voters with Purvanchali identity.
