28 people died when a plane skidded off the runway and crashed at South Korea’s Muan International Airport on Sunday. According to Reuters, the accident occurred when the Jeju Air plane carrying 175 passengers and 6 crew members flying from Thailand was landing at the airport. A video of the accident has surfaced in which the plane is seen skidding far after coming off the runway and then collides with a fencing. After the collision, there is a huge explosion in the plane and its wings fly apart. The plane catches fire immediately after the collision.

Officials said the plane, which took off from Bangkok, Thailand, skidded off the runway and hit fencing while landing at Southwestern Airport at 9:07 a.m. local time. Pictures and videos shared on social media showed that the plane caught fire and smoke and fire spread all around.
Yonhap News Agency reported that there were 175 passengers and 6 crew members on the plane. Of the 175 passengers, 173 were South Korean and two were Thai citizens.
