Triptii Dimri rejects claims of distancing herself from ‘sexualised’ image; says, “The aim is to play different characters”
In an interview with Forbes India, Triptii Dimri shared that she remains unfazed by the scrutiny surrounding her roles in Animals and bad newsShe said, “I am someone who wants to give 100 percent. If I find the character or the story interesting, I want to give my all. That’s what I’ve learned—if it works, it works, and if it doesn’t, it doesn’t. We won’t always be liked by everybody. There will be some people who like you, and some who don’t. You can’t keep all that noise in mind. You have to follow your heart and do things that you feel are right.”
When asked if she is deliberately distancing herself from an “overtly sexualised” image, Triptii Dimri rejected the idea. She explained, “I am going with the flow. The aim is to play different characters because I don’t want to go to a set and feel bored. I want to feel challenged and wonder, ‘How will this happen?’—and then make it happen.”
Triptii Dimri further explained that she took on the role of Zoya in Animals because she wanted to try something different. She also pointed to her decision to portray Vidya in Rajkummar Rao’s Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video as part of her ongoing effort to diversify the roles she takes on.
Recently, rumors surfaced suggesting that Triptii Dimri was dropped from Aashiqui 3 alongside Kartik Aaryan for being “too exposed.” Reports claimed that the makers were looking for someone with a “pure demeanor” for the role. However, filmmaker Anurag Basu refuted these claims, telling Mid-Day, “That’s not true, and Triptii knows it too.”
Triptii Dimri is now focusing on Vishal Bhardwaj’s Arjun Ustarawhich was initially set to star Kartik Aaryan but will now feature Shahid Kapoor. She is also set to begin shooting for Dhadak 2opposite Siddhant Chaturvedi, directed by Shazia Iqbal under Dharma Productions.
