Trump Reciprocal Tariff: 26% injury and India mention 5 times … Trump said in tariff speech- India is very tough! – Donalnd Trump Tariff Announcement for India 26 Percent Tariff Imposed India US Trade Relations PM Narendra Modi Friends NTCPPL

US President Donald Trump has imposed 26% tariff on India. Now it will be difficult for India’s traders to deal with American businessman. Due to this decision of Trump, India’s goods will become 26 percent expensive in the US market. This tariff will make Indian exports expensive, which can reduce the ability to compute Indian product in the US market.

Announcing his tariff policy, President Trump said that India is very tough, very tough. Referring to PM Modi, Trump said that Modi is my very good friend, I have told him that you are not treating us properly.

Donald Trump has named this historic speech “Liberation Day” speech. The speech of Trump took place on 2 April 2025 at the Rose Garden of the White House.

Referring to India in his speech, Trump said that, “The United States charges only 2.4 percent on motorcycles from other countries. Meanwhile, Thailand and other countries are charging a lot of rates, such as 60 percent. India takes 70 percent tariffs, Vietnam takes 75 percent tariffs, and other countries charge even higher rates.”

Trump tied a spectacular role before applying the tariff and gave an emotional speech from Rose Garden. He said, “This is Liberation Day, a long -awaited moment. 2 April 2025 will always be remembered because it was the day when the American industry was reborn, the day when America’s destiny was reclaimed and the day when we started making America prosperous again. We are going to make it prosperous, good and prosperous.”

Trump further said that till date, the United States has imposed 2.5 percent tariffs for decades. Think about that 2.5 percent on foreign -made automobiles. The European Union charges more than 10 percent tariffs from us, and they have 20 percent VAT, which is very high. India imposes 70 percent of tariffs and perhaps the worst situation is non-modern restrictions imposed by South Korea, Japan and many other countries as a result of these huge trade obstacles. “

Trump showed a chart while announcing a tariff on India, which India was telling “Currency, including manipulation and business barriers, impose 52 percent tariffs on the US. Trump said that the US will now put a 26 percent “discounted reciprocal tariff” on India.

Referring to India further, Trump said, “India, very, very strict. Very, very strict (India, very, very tough. Very, very tough). Hai, when I came to power, we started with China. “

India discussed 5 times in Executive Order

India is discussed 5 times in the Executive Order of President Trump. It states that America’s average MFN tariff rate is 3.3%, which is one of the lowest in the world. While others charge more from us.

This order states, “According to the World Trade Organization, the United States’s simple average MFN tariff rates are the lowest in the world with 3.3 percent, while many of our major trading partners like Brazil (11.2 percent), China (7.5 percent), European Union (EU) (5 percent), India (17 percent), India (17 percent) and Vietnam (9.4 percent) are significantly higher.”

Let us know that all member countries in WTO have promised to tie their tariffs on the “Most-Faward-Nation” (MFN) basis, that is, they will give all the WTO members their best tariff rates. But, he did not say that these rates will be very low or will be equal to each other. The result is that the tariff rates of every country are different, and these differences affect trade.

Trump’s executive order further states:-

“In addition, these average MFN tariff rates hide very large flaws in tariff rates applied to special products. For example, the United States imposes 2.5 percent tariffs on passenger vehicle imports (with internal combustion engine), while the European Union (10 percent), India (70 percent), and China (15 percent) levies a lot of charges on the same product.”

“For network switches and routers, the United States imposes 0 percent tariff, but for similar products, India (10 percent) costs high rate”

“Brazil (18 percent) and Indonesia (30 percent) impose more tariffs on ethanol than the United States (2.5 percent).”

“For rice, the American MFN tariff is 2.7 percent, while India (80 percent), Malaysia (40 percent), and Türkiye (an average 31 percent) cost high rates.”

“Apples come to America free free, but this is not the case in Türkiye (60.3 percent) and India (50 percent).”

Trump has said to impose 26% tariff on India by citing this inequality in his “Liberation Day” speech.

No shock for India

The Ministry of Commerce of India has said that India is analyzing the impact of 26 percent mutual tariff or import duty. According to an official, universal 10 percent tariff on all imports in the US will be applicable from April 5 and the remaining 16 percent tariffs from April 10.

The official said, “India is analyzing the impact of the declared tariff,” he said that there is a provision that if a country resolves the concerns of America, the Trump administration can consider reducing the fee against that country. “

The official said, “This is a mixed result and there is no shock for India.”
