In Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand, a vicious criminal wanted in several cases of murder, animal theft and cow slaughter was arrested by the police after an encounter. The police was searching for that criminal for a long time. Many cases are registered against him.
The police conducted this encounter in Kichha of Udham Singh Nagar district. District Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manikant Mishra told PTI that 48-year-old Taslim Qureshi was arrested during the encounter. His leg was injured in the encounter and he was later taken to the government hospital in Kichha for treatment.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manikant Mishra said that the accused is a resident of Qureshi Mohalla of Taslim city. A bag containing 20 kg of meat and an illegal pistol have been recovered from the accused.
SSP Manikant Mishra further said that many cases of murder, buffalo theft and cow slaughter are registered against Tasleem Qureshi in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. He told that information about his criminal history is being collected from Uttar Pradesh.
According to the SSP, after receiving a secret information, a police team reached Qureshi Mohalla. Where the accused was found riding a motorcycle. There was a bag hanging on his bike. As soon as he saw the police, the accused started running away. The police team chased him. Then he entered a mango orchard.
Senior Superintendent of Police Manikant Mishra said that an encounter took place in the same garden, in which Taslim got injured in his leg. He told that there was no number plate on his motorcycle. Police is investigating the vehicle.
