The proposal seeking to stop the immediate war in Ukraine has received the approval of the United Nation Security Council. The proposal has been passed by the Council, which has been asked to stop the immediate war in Ukraine and permanent peace between the two countries. In favor of this proposal, 10 members of the 15-member council voted in favor and five countries including France avoided voting.
So far, UNSC has been unable to take any action on war as Russia and its allies have been vetoing it. The US had introduced this proposal, on which countries like Britain, Denmark, Greece and Slovenia refused to participate in voting, besides Veto power France.

What is said in the proposal passed by UNSC?
“We can go on the path of peace with this proposal,” acting US Ambassador to the United Nations, Dorothy Sheiya said during the debate. This is the first step but important, which we all should be proud of. ” The proposal states that the purpose of United Nations is to maintain international peace and security. The proposal has demanded a peaceful resolution of disputes, ending the war immediately and permanent peace.
America had to compromise in UNGA!
Two resolutions have also been passed with the demand to stop war from UNGA. This has cleared the way to stop the war in Ukraine. The ongoing tension between the US and Europe was also seen in the United Nations General Assembly, where the US had to compromise its own proposal. On the occasion of the third anniversary of the Russian attack on Ukraine, European countries moved a resolution with an appeal to end the war, in which Russia was criticized all -round.
18 countries, including the US, Israel and North Korea, voted against the proposal offered by Europe and Ukraine, which is a clear glimpse of the policy shift against the Trump administration’s Ukraine war. Well, the proposal passed with 93 votes, and 65 countries including India kept distance from voting.
Macron-Trump met in America
It is worth noting that in the meantime French President Emmanuel Macron is in America, and is meeting Donald Trump. Macron said that it is clear that Russia is “aggressive” in the struggle, but does not agree with Trump. “President Putin has violated peace,” Macron said at a joint press conference with Trump.
Macron said, “We want peace, they also want peace. We want peace rapidly, but we do not want a compromise that is weak.” He said that any peace agreement should be “evaluated, investigation and verification”.

What appeals were made in the proposal of Ukraine and Europe?
Europe’s proposal was severely criticized by Russia and appealed to maintain Ukraine’s regional integrity and return the Russian army to Ukraine. It said that the Russian invasion of Ukraine has been going on for three months and it is having disastrous effects not only on other areas but also on global stability. The proposal states to reduce tension, stop attacks and find a peaceful solution to war.
Russia also shocked UNGA
The demand to end the war as well as another proposal “without referring to the Russian invasion of Ukraine” was introduced by the US, which faced strong opposition. European countries appealed to the US to amend the proposal, and the interesting thing was that Super Power was non-Hazor from the assembly during the voting on its proposal.
The revised American draft proposal was also passed with 93 votes, while 73 countries including the US did not participate in voting and eight voted against it. Russia also got a shock here which failed to try to include words like the “root cause” of the attack even in this amendment.
