By-elections are going to be held on Milkipur seat of Ayodhya. Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Chandrabhan Paswan from here. Samajwadi Party has already declared Ajit Prasad, son of Ayodhya MP Awadhesh Prasad, as its candidate from here. Like Awadhesh Prasad, Chandrabhan Paswan comes from Pasi community.

Born in Parsauli village of Ayodhya district, the life of Chandrabhan Paswan was full of struggles. Born on 3 April 1986 to Baba Ram Lakhan, Chandrabhan did B.Com and LLB. degree but he chose to move towards politics as a career. His activism as a member of the District Working Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party made him popular in every village and among the communities.

Identity is not limited to politics only

Chandrabhan’s wife Kanchan Paswan was elected District Panchayat member in both 2015 and 2021. In the 2021 elections, he won from Rudauli IV with the highest number of votes in the district by getting 11,382 votes. Chandrabhan’s father, Baba Ram Lakhan was elected as village head in 2010 and 2021.

Chandrabhan’s identity is not limited to politics only. He registered his presence in 84 Kosi Parikrama, 14 Kosi and Panchkosi Parikrama to serve the saints and devotees in Ayodhya. During Navratri, huge bhandaras are organized at his personal residence, Durga temple and Shiva temple.

Chandrabhan came to the aid of the needy in times of crisis

During the COVID-19 pandemic, when people were in fear and distress, Chandrabhan provided ration, food, masks, and sanitizers to the needy. Also arranged for vehicles to take the migrant laborers to their homes. He also actively participated in the fund collection campaign for the construction of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. During the rainy season, when flood victims become helpless, Chandrabhan reaches out to them to help them.
