In Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow, a case of assault on an electrician who had gone to collect the outstanding electricity bill has come to light. The incident took place in Saadatganj police station area where a government employee was assaulted. Now an FIR has been lodged against the accused in the police station.
According to the information, when the electrician reached Somnath to collect the outstanding electricity bill in LH Khan area, people attacked him. Somnath told that as per the instructions of senior officials, he had gone to collect the outstanding electricity bill.
Meanwhile, the accused present there abused him, beat him up and broke his mobile phone. Not only this, he was also given death threats.
On receiving information about the incident, Electricity Department Engineer Raman Vasumitra and Chowk Subdivision Officer Ashwini Kushwaha reached the police station with the victim Somnath. Police have registered the case based on the complaint of the victim.
According to the police, a case has been registered in this case against Bhayyu, Meesam and Babu, residents of LH Khan. A case has been registered against the accused under different sections of the Indian Penal Code and investigation has been started.
Police say that efforts are being made to arrest the accused. Electricity department officials have strongly condemned the attack and demanded strict action against the culprits.
Electricity Department Executive Engineer Raman Vasumitra said that electricity workers were sent as part of the outstanding bill recovery campaign. He has appealed to the police to ensure the safety of the employees so that such incidents do not happen in future.
