Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested many wanted criminals during separate encounters in different districts of the state. UP Police officials shared this information with reporters on Thursday.

Police officials said that Lucknow Police has arrested four robbers after an encounter in the early hours of Thursday. The accused have been identified as Aman Singh, Veer Yadav, Karan Singh and a teenager. He told that during the encounter, Aman and Veer were shot in their legs.

Police said that illegal weapons, looted cash, jewelery and a stolen car have been recovered from their possession. He also told that two separate incidents of robbery had taken place on December 22. It is alleged that all these miscreants were involved in those incidents.

According to PTI, UP Police issued a statement saying that based on a tip-off at around 2.30 pm on Thursday, a police team stopped the vehicle of the accused near Neeraj Chowk in Gomti Nagar. But when stopped, the accused started firing on the police team.

The police statement said that after this the police retaliated. In which two robbers got injured in their legs and were taken to the hospital. According to the statement, some of the accused tried to escape, but the team cordoned off the area and caught them too.

Police officials said that in another incident, Krishna Nagar police has arrested Yogesh Yadav and Shamim, involved in violent crimes. He told that on Wednesday night Shamim fired at the police team and in the retaliatory firing he got shot.

Meanwhile, police officials said that wanted criminals have been arrested after a police encounter in Bahraich district. The accused have been identified as Aslam, Abrar and Abdul Aziz.

Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Ramanand Prasad Kushwaha said that they had stolen jewelery worth lakhs of rupees from a shop in Gajadharpur market on November 4. He told that the police received information on Wednesday night that all three were going towards Wazirganj market.

ASP said that a team along with the Special Operations Group (SOG) laid a trap and tried to stop his motorcycle. The police officer said that when the team stopped the motorcycle, one of the accused opened fire and Aslam was shot in the leg in the police retaliatory firing.

The police officer said that Aslam and Abrar were caught, but Aziz managed to escape from the spot. The injured have been admitted to Bahraich Medical College for treatment. He said that efforts are on to arrest the absconding accused.
