Haridwar of Uttarakhand echoed with bullets on Sunday. The fight between MLA and former MLA in Khanpur Assembly for several days came on the road on social media and turned into a gang war. Former MLA BJP leader Kunwar Pranab Singh Champion along with his supporters reached the office of current MLA Umesh Kumar and fired bullets. After this incident, tension in the area has increased and a large number of police forces have been deployed on the spot.
On Sunday, three vehicles reached the office of the current MLA Umesh Kumar of Khanpur, in which former MLA champions and his supporters were riding. Everyone had weapons in their hands. As soon as he got down from the car, everyone attacked Umesh Kumar’s office and fired up. For the last few days, there was a sharp rhetoric between the current MLA Umesh Kumar and former MLA Champion on social media, which became the cause of this violent clash. ‘Indecent words written in social media posts’
On the arrest of Pranab Singh Champion, MLA Umesh Kumar said, ‘Kunwar Pranab Singh lost the local body elections in Champion candidate Landaura and Dhandera. After this, he used indecent words against mother in a post on social media. This will force anyone to react. Today he and his 50 supporters attacked me and fired around 50 rounds. I have never seen such an attack on an existing MLA.
‘Will not let anyone take law in hand’
The statement of SSP Haridwar Pramendra Doval has also come on this matter. He said that we have taken cognizance of the matter from social media, in which it is being said that the former MLA has fired at the current MLA’s office. Will deal strictly on this matter. Law and order will not be allowed to take anyone in hand. We are investigating behind the incident.
Umesh Kumar went to the champion’s house
For a long time, the process of abusing and threatening each other has been going on between the current MLA of Khanpur Umesh Kumar and former MLA Pranab Champion. After a social media post by the champion, Umesh Kumar arrived at his house in Landaura on Saturday night. He returned after not finding the champion there. It is being told that today the champion took this step to avenge the same. Questions are also arising that the code of conduct of the civic elections ended on the evening of 26th. In such a situation, how are the champions roaming around with so many modern weapons.
BJP state president said- strict action should be taken
The statement of BJP state president and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt has come out in the Khanpur firing case. Bhatt says that the atmosphere that has been created in Haridwar for the last 2 days is not the right thing, whether the public representative is present or former. He said, ‘I have also told the Chief Minister that there should be a hard work on it.’ Regarding Pranav Champion, he said that the matter has come to the notice of the party and we will not allow any of our representatives to take the law in hand.
Let us know that in 2019 also, the champion was expelled from the party indefinitely for using the indefinite language for Uttarakhand, which was later restored. At the same time, Umesh Kumar has become a Nirmalaya MLA from Khanpur for the first time. Pranav Champion himself shared the video on his Facebook page how he reached the office of Khanpur MLA.
