Vanvas showed some improvement in numbers on Saturday as it managed to cross Rs. 1 crore mark. The exact collections have come as Rs. 1.02 crore and that’s around 40% growth over Friday collections of Rs. 73 lakhs.
The film needed to jump much higher though and ideally 100% growth would have been a better bet. It’s a content film, which needs its own space and time to keep going on for weeks to come. However, since there is a lot of competition around it, the issue is not just with the choices that audiences have available for them but also the screen distribution, what with multiple films across languages vying for attention.
The Anil Sharma film has now reached Rs. 1.75 crore mark and while today the total will go past Rs. 3 crores mark for sure, a lot more is required for it to sail through. This Nana Patekar and Utkarsh Sharma starter does carry merits and one just hopes that there is a turnaround sooner than later.
