Uttar Pradesh ATS arrested a member of a gang involved in illegal immigration and human trafficking from Varanasi on Friday. The accused used to allow Bangladeshi Rohingyas to enter India illegally and provided them fake documents.
Arrest made near Varanasi railway station
According to the information, the accused used to make Bangladeshi Rohingyas Indian citizens with the help of fake documents. The arrested accused has been identified as Mohammad Abdullah alias Abdul Salam Mandal. UP ATS arrested him near Varanasi railway station.
property purchased in west bengal
The arrested Mohammad Abdullah himself is a resident of Myanmar, who was living in India with the help of fake documents. He had settled in West Bengal with fake documents of Indian citizenship. The accused had also purchased property in Midnapore, West Bengal.
NIA raid in human trafficking case
Recently, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had raided 22 places in six states in a case of human trafficking. Since early morning on Thursday, different teams of NIA along with the state police had launched this operation. The operation was aimed at dismantling organized smuggling networks, targeting the premises of suspected individuals.
