Vignesh Shivan clarifies Puducherry visit and denies rumors of seeking government property : Bollywood News
Tamil director Vignesh Shivan recently made headlines after rumors surfaced about him asking a minister about acquiring a government property in Puducherry. Following the circulation of memes, the filmmaker issued a statement clarifying that he had only sought permission for a film shoot and did not inquire about acquiring any government property in Puducherry.

In his statement posted on December 15, Vignesh Shivan wrote, “There’s a rumor circulating on social media that I tried to purchase government property. I want to clarify this matter. I visited Puducherry to inspect the airport and to seek permission to conduct film shoots there. As a courtesy, I met the Chief Minister and the Tourism Minister during my visit.”
He further added, “Coincidentally, a local manager was inquiring about some other matter on their behalf. This unrelated information has not been mistakenly linked to me.”
Acknowledging that he became a target for trolls over this, he wrote, “The memes being shared on social media about this are funny & inspiring yet unnecessary! Hence, wanted to clarify this. Hence, I wanted to clear the air regarding this issue.”
Tourism Minister Lakshmi Narayanan addressed the matter and stated, “Director Vignesh Shivan visited to seek permission to conduct continuous musical events in Puducherry, similar to those held abroad.”
Recently, Vignesh Shivan has found himself at the center of multiple controversies. In the first week of December, Dhanush sent a legal notice to Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan for allegedly unauthorized use of clips from his production. Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in their Netflix documentary. The duo included behind-the-scenes footage, which led Dhanush to file a case against them and Netflix.
Meanwhile, Vignesh Shivan is currently working on his upcoming directorial venture, Love Insurance Companystarring Pradeep Ranganathan (of Love Today fame), Krithi Shetty, and SJ Suryah.
