One person was killed while three people were injured in a knife attack on Saturday during a protest in France’s Mulhouse city, including two police officers. French President Emmanuel Macron has termed the attack as an ‘Islamic terrorist attack’.

The attacker was a 37 -year -old Algerian citizen, who was in the Terrorist Monitoring List (FSPRT). The list was made in 2015 after the attacks on the Charli Abdo office and a Jewish Supermarket, to monitor the radical elements.

Anti -terrorism investigation begins after attack

The attacker was under judicial supervision

Michel Lutz, the Mayor of the Mulhouse, described this attack as a panic and said that it is being considered a terrorist attack, but the judiciary will have to confirm this. According to sources, the attacker was under judicial surveillance and detention and was ordered to be expelled from France.
