Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said that Lalit Modi has applied to surrender his passport in the High Commission. He said, “Lalit Modi has given an application to submit his Indian passport. It will be investigated according to its rules. We have also come to know that he has taken citizenship of Vanuatu. The cases against him will continue according to the law.”

Lalit Modi escaped Britain in 2010
