Waqf amendment bill cleared in Lok Sabha – Waqf Bill passed in Lok Sabha, 288 votes in favor, Owaisi and Amendment of Opposition MPs including Owaisi rejected – WAQF Amendment Bill Cle Clerade in Lok sabha after Marathon Debate Opposate Cries Ful NTC

The Waqf Amendment Bill has been passed from the Lok Sabha. The Waqf Amendment Bill was voted in the Lok Sabha, out of which 288 out of 464 votes and 232 were in protest. The Waqf Amendment Bill was debated by more than 12 hours in the Lok Sabha. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and opposition MPs presented their parts. Now this bill will be introduced in the Rajya Sabha and then sent to the President for approval.

What did Kiren Rijiju say?

In response to the discussion on the bill, Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that there is no place safe for minorities from India and they are safe here as the majority community is completely secular. He said that minor minority communities like Parsis are also safe in India and all the minorities live here proudly.

Some members had said that minorities are not safe in India. This statement is completely wrong. There is no place safe from India for minorities. I am also a minority and we are all living here without any fear and proud.

On passing the Waqf Amendment Bill from the Lok Sabha, the ruling NDA described it as beneficial for minorities. The government has further strengthened its claim to protect the interests of minorities.
