The weather is mostly dry in the month of 2025 i.e. in the month of January to February. The weather from Delhi, Punjab, Haryana to Himachal Pradesh remains dry. Lack of rain and snowfall is being recorded here, due to which crops are being affected. Farmers are very upset about this.

For a long time, the drought era has also worried the farmers of Shimla. Due to the drought, there is a danger of decrease in the production of apple crop. Harish Chauhan, president of the fruit vegetable flower productive association, said that farmers have also been stopped from installing new plantations due to adverse weather conditions. Explain that for a good apple crop, sufficient cold hours and moisture is necessary during winter, while hailstorm proves to be harmful at the time of flowering.
About 90 percent of apple gardens in the state are still dependent on traditional varieties, while the rest have adopted high density plantations. Chauhan said, “During the winter months, snowfall also causes insects and diseases, but we have been seeing a month’s change in the weather for the last three years, affecting the production of apples.”
The huge shortage of rain is a matter of serious concern for farmers
At the same time, according to Skymet, the rain in most parts of Punjab and Haryana has reduced considerably. January and February are considered to be the most important and rainy month of winter season. During this time, a long dry weather can prove to be harmful for the agricultural sector and farmers. The Rabi season is in its final stages and during this time the huge lack of rain has become a matter of serious concern for the farmers.
Reason for no rain
In the last 2-3 weeks, one after the other has been passing through the western disturbances, but these systems have been weak and could not rain in the plains. Even in the mountainous states, there is a shortage of heavy rains and snowfall. However, a new western disturbance will reach the Western Himalayas from 8 to 12 February. But its effectiveness will also be moderate to light, and its effect will be limited to the mountains only.
