Chaitya Bhoomi: The memorial of BR Ambedkar
Chaitya Bhoomi is a memorial located in Mumbai, built in the memory of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the creator of the Indian Constitution and social reformer. This site is located near Dadar and is famous as the cremation ground of Dr. Ambedkar. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar (14 April 1891 – 6 December 1956), popularly known as Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, was an Indian polymath, jurist, economist, politician, writer and social reformer. He inspired the Dalit Buddhist movement and campaigned against social discrimination against Dalits. Every year on 14th April, on the birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar, a large number of people come to Chaitya Bhoomi to pay homage.
